Hard Core Green Smoothie

I was inspired to create this green smoothie while reading Victoria Boutenko's book Green for Life. In it, she talks of how she spent years researching chimps and their natural diets and how chimps and humans are so physiologically similar, sharing a whopping 99.4% of our DNA sequences. As it turns out, chimps eat a diet of predominantly GREENS and FRUITS. I thought they ate mostly bananas and insects!

Victoria and her family had been on a raw food diet for years but she felt something was missing. So she discovered greens and started drinking green smoothies, with amazing results. It's a great read and I recommend it!

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen bananas

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 cup baby spinach

  • 6 "dino" leaves (lacinato kale)

  • 2 cups coconut water

Method
